Sundays are always lazy day, it doesn't matter where you are. You wake up late and you just want to enjoy the day. For me, to enjoy a nice Sunday is waking up late and going with some of my friends to have a nice "Brunch" at Cafe Americano.
Located at the corner of Main Street and Pineapple Street, right underneath Five Point Building, this restaurant is perfect everything, food, ambiance, location. With tables outside to enjoy the sun and the breeze, beautiful decoration inside. High ceilings, beautiful painting that are from the same artist (white, yellow, red and black lines make shape of couples, it has a style of early-19th century). Nice bar with plasma TV to enjoy your news or Formula One. What is best, it is that you feel somewhere else. Like a place in Europe.
Well, Cafe Americano is from the same people that brings you Cafe Epicure and Mediterraneo. Each of these restaurants offers an European feel with a Sarasota flair. Each different, but offering the same quality food and service.
Cafe Americano has a great selection of sandwiches, salads, soups, and if you come before noon, they are great frittata yumm!!! my favorite is the one with goat cheese and spinach or chives. If you love goat cheese as much as I do, just ask for extra :)
But if you come over for dinner, food is totally different. They have great selection of pasta, salads, meats, and desserts that are to die for. The chef, Dino will show you what type of wine should go with you dinner and the selection is great. One night, he made a Zabaglione, OMG it was just perfect.
I love this place, the owners are so nice, they are always making sure that you are having a good time and everybody that works in there are amazing. Very considerate and they let you enjoy your day. There is no rush to move you out of the table. Like other restaurants they want to move you as fast as they can.
Plus, this is one of the few places that their cappuccino is just amazing for in Sarasota. Made with a classic Lavazza. I judge a good restaurant depending how good their cappuccino is LOL.
Well, not all the time but especially restaurants that specialized in breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Ok, I'm talking a lot about this restaurant, but again; it is perfect, price wise is great and it is perfect for Sarasota. I love you Cafe Americano.
Just come and visit for yourself. Look what others are saying about Cafe Americano.
